Dear Friend,

Good news! With your help, Senate Bill 1480 ("The Consumer and Wildlife Protection Act") has cleared two hurdles in the state Senate. Now your help is needed again to ensure that it passes the Senate floor.

Please write to your state senator today to urge passage of this important animal protection legislation.

Introduced by Senate Majority Leader Ellen Corbett (D-San Leandro) and co-authored by Sen. Loni Hancock (D-Oakland), Sen. Ted Lieu (D-Long Beach) and Assemblyman Jerry Hill (D-San Mateo), SB 1480 will protect wildlife from unnecessary death and cruelty, reduce costs incurred by animal control and wildlife rehabilitation centers, decrease the chances of family dogs and cats being inadvertently killed in traps, and protect homeowners who often are mislead by scofflaw wildlife trappers. (Find more details here.)

Even if you have written or called your senator about this bill before, your encouragement is needed again. Please use our online e-mail template (personalize it, if you have time!) or call today. (Find your state senator's phone number here.)

In common cause,
