RESCUE! First Batch Settles In Quickly; More Coming Soon
The first 10 primates — stump-tailed macaques — from the bankrupt Wild Animal Orphanage arrived on Wednesday afternoon at the Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary. Nearly 100 more monkeys soon will follow. According to Director Tim Ajax, "They couldn't wait to get out and explore and zipped through the gate into their new home. They split up and came back together in small groups many times during the first several hours, grunting softly back and forth to each other for reassurance. They love mesquite beans!" Check out pictures and video (watch Belinda and Lena eat!) and follow each arrival throughout the summer. Also, understand that we need your support to fund the lifetime care for all of these animals. Please make a donation today!

ADOPT: Help All Born Free USA Primate Sanctuary Residents
Soon, the primate population we will provide permanent, lifetime care for will surpass 600. That's a lot of mouths to feed, which means that more than ever we will need your support. One of our most popular programs lets you adopt a primate (such as Khy, pictured here) for only $1 per week! Take your pick, receive a goodie bag from us and please let your friends and families know about our adoption program, too. (Or you can surprise a loved one with a gift adoption!)

MEOW: We Have Cats, Too!
Over the years people have dumped feral felines they've captured (and their unwanted pets) at the Primate Sanctuary in the hope we would open our gates and care for the little fur balls. We did, and we do! Food and basic veterinary care come at a price, though, and to help defray our cat colony expenses, earlier this year we launched Prairie's Fund. Our goal is to raise $5,000 each year, and already we're close to meeting our 2012 target! Please help put us over the top today.
